Nathan Reed wins Arizona’s 2017 SuperTech Competition

Phoenix, AZ – On June 24, 2017, the Arizona Trucking Association (ATA) held its annual SuperTech competition at the Universal Technical Institute – Phoenix Campus (UTI).

Twenty-five of Arizona’s best technicians competed in this year’s competition.

In addition to a written test, this year’s contestants were tested on their knowledge and understanding in the following areas: information systems; brakes; starting and charging systems; wheel ends, and fifth wheel.

Nathan Reed, RWC International, was awarded “Grand Champion” of the annual competition, in addition to winning individual category awards for information systems, starting and charging systems, and wheel ends.

Other individual category winners were:

  • Written Test – Todd Moore, W. W. Williams
  • Brakes – Wyatt Newman, W. W. Williams
  • Fifth Wheel – Jeffrey Roth, W. W. Williams

Wyatt Newman, W. W. Williams, finished in second place overall and Todd Moore, W. W. Williams, finished in third place overall.

Mr. Reed will represent Arizona at the national SuperTech Competition in Orlando, Florida from September 16-19, 2017.
