Arizona Trucking Association Announces 2022 Fleet Safety Award Winners
The Arizona Trucking Association (ATA) is proud to announce the winners of the highly anticipated Fleet Safety Awards, presented during the ATA Annual Meeting at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort in Tucson, AZ on October 2, 2023. These awards recognize outstanding achievements in the field of fleet safety and commend those who have made significant contributions to enhancing the transportation industry’s image and safety culture.
This year, the awards were presented in four mileage categories, along with the prestigious Chairman’s Award for Safety and Community Service. The judging criteria included accident rates, Inspection Out of Service Rates in SAFER, workplace safety, community outreach efforts, driver/employee recognition programs, and other demonstrated efforts to promote industry safety.
“Our judges meticulously evaluated each nominee to ensure that the winners truly exemplified excellence in fleet safety and commitment to the well-being of our community,” said ATA President and CEO Tony Bradley
The winners of the 2023 Fleet Safety Awards are as follows:
1 to 500,000 Miles Category:
- First-Place Winner: Precision Heavy Haul, Inc.
- Accepting the award: Mike Poppe, President
1 to 3 Million Miles Category:
- First-Place Winner: Freeport Transportation, Inc.
- Accepting the award: John Bauermeister, President
3 to 7 Million Miles Category:
- First-Place Winner: Barney Trucking, Inc.
- Accepting the award: Ryan Barney
7 Miles and Over Category:
- First-Place Winner: Stewart Transport Inc.
- Accepting the award: Amanda Gallegos
In addition to these category awards, Stewart Transport Inc. was honored with the prestigious Chairman’s Award for Safety and Community Service. This award recognizes the fleet with the lowest accident frequency rate and their significant contributions to the advancement of safety within the state of Arizona.
