Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety Awards $78,107 Grant for FY2025 to Promote Commercial Truck Awareness and Road Safety
Phoenix, AZ – The Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) has awarded a $78,107 grant to the Arizona Trucking Association Foundation (ATA Foundation) for the fiscal year 2025. This funding supports the Foundation’s ongoing mission to enhance highway safety, with a particular emphasis on commercial truck awareness and education through its highly regarded “Share the Road” and “Teens and Trucks” programs.
The grant will enable the continued operation of the Foundation’s mobile “Share the Road” exhibit, a dynamic educational tool adorned with “Stay Out of the No-Zone” messaging. This exhibit travels to events across Arizona, delivering crucial safety lessons to communities statewide.
In addition to the mobile education, the grant also supports the Foundation’s participation in the Public Education Program, ensuring a robust presence on television and radio. By leveraging these platforms, the ATA Foundation aims to reach an even broader audience with its vital safety messaging.
Tony Bradley, Executive Director of the ATA Foundation, expressed his gratitude for the grant:
“The Teens and Trucks and Share the Road programs are essential in educating Arizonans about safely sharing the road with commercial trucks. This funding provides a welcome boost, enabling us to expand our outreach and continue making Arizona’s highways safer for everyone.”
The “Share the Road” program focuses on three key objectives:
- Educating road users—including car drivers, motorcyclists, and commercial vehicle operators—on safe interactions to reduce truck-involved crashes.
- Increasing public awareness about the unique challenges of sharing the road with large trucks, especially those carrying oversized loads.
- Expanding targeted outreach to novice drivers, senior citizens, and other high-risk groups, fostering a greater understanding of the hazards around commercial vehicles.

The ATA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit formerly known as the Arizona Transportation Education Foundation, is committed to advancing highway safety and supporting the trucking industry through education, research, and advocacy.
